SESSION DESCRIPTION: Want to teach young children punctuation in a fun and memorable way? Need a brush-up course on the difference between a hyphen and a dash? Don't know where to use the apostrophe? Does the comma/period go before or after a closing quotation mark? Come see how Punctuation Playtime gets children to remember these important literacy rules — and have fun while learning them!
TABLE TALK OBJECTIVE: A demonstration of small- and large-group interactive activities will show participants how teachers can reinvigorate their personal teaching styles with proven techniques that Punctuation Playtime performers have created for classroom use. The program supports literacy goals and enhances teacher preparation to meet state learning standards in English language arts.
