RELEASE PUNCTUATION MAN TO APPEAR
The 30-minute program on May 5 will be devoted to punctuation. It will air from 11:30 a.m. to noon in every time zone in the United States and Canada on CBC Radio One. Internet listeners may go to http://www.cbc.ca/listen/ at 11:30 in their time zone and select a location from the list to hear the broadcast. Rubin, of Pinole, CA, is also the founder of Punctuation Playtime, a school-assembly program featuring a variety of interactive learning games and activities that make learning punctuation fun for children in grades 1-6. Punctuation Playtime is also available as a training DVD for teachers. “Punctuation is a key component in the development of good writing skills,” says Rubin. “Successful people have good communication skills, and knowing how to write properly is one of them.
